Mike Bedford brings to Prana Athletics close to a decade of Division One Women’s Lacrosse experience. He has competed in the BIG Ten, Patriot League, ASUN, and Colonial Athletic Conferences, serving as an Assistant coach, offensive and defensive coordinator, and recruiting coordinator. Mike also served as the head coach of the Philadelphia Force in the United Women’s Lacrosse League for two seasons, coaching the team to the 2018 undefeated UWLX Championship.

Mike Bedford most recently served as the offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Jacksonville University, where he worked closely with the JU goalie contingent. He joined the women’s lacrosse program after a season at the University of Michigan, focusing on goalie development and overall player improvement. During his time at Jacksonville, the team achieved back-to-back NCAA Sweet 16 appearances, marking the most successful years in program history.

Before Michigan, Bedford was an assistant coach at Rutgers University, where he implemented defensive strategies and conducted goalkeeper training. He played a key role in mentoring a strong freshmen class during his tenure.

Prior to Rutgers, Bedford spent a season as the defensive coordinator at Boston University and served as an assistant coach at William & Mary, where he guided the goalkeeping unit.

Bedford also spent three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Hofstra, contributing to the team’s success in the CAA.

He began his collegiate coaching career at Lenoir Rhyne University as a defensive coach and started as an undergrad assistant at Suffolk County Community College, where he helped the team reach the NJCAA National Runner-Up finish.

Bedford played two seasons at Long Island University Post, contributing to the team’s NCAA National Championship in 2009.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Coaching from Long Island University Post in 2009.
